If you export a drawing to bmp-format, user defined resolution (150, 300 or
600) are ignored. The exported bitmap will always have 96 dpi.

This was different in previous versions and thus is a regression.

@Regina
I tried it with the English version of 2.0 (shame, so old!) and in the Dutch
version 2.3. I have both as portable versions just in case I have to look
something up in the UI.

When you activate Footer and/or Header in a pagestyle menu and then click on
More, you can define lines, linearrangements and colour etc. Then - on
clicking OK twice, these adjustments can be seen on the page, okay.
but if you go back to the page style menu and then click on More again, all
adjustments have disappeared.
This is a regression, because in all former versions the adjustments have been
kept.

Already in May 2007 mba wrote: The implementation of the basic feature can be
comarably simple: I would just store the current selection on a stack and
restore it on demand.

Despite a lot of votes and passionate comments of users who urgently want this
feature, nothing has happened. And what was Target milestone 2.x is now target
milestone 3.x and - as I am afraid - will be target milestone 4.x in the end.

Here another quotation from the official announcement of OOo 3:
OpenOffice.org 3.0 provides more flexibility and functionality than any other
office suite on the market
What a cheek is this, regarding the above!

@ kpalagin,

I don't know what you mean by handy sophistication, but as I already said I
would be happy with an additional button (for example Back) which brings me
back to the point where I was when pressing Replace all.
Not more and not less.

@lkaratzas

All the technical explanations are not of real interest for me. As a translater
and revisor I am nearly every day in the situation that I have to replace an
expression throughout the whole document when I see it for the first time.
Because I have to go revising on that very same place, it's just copious to
have to refind that place by searching for it, or placing a marker or making
another detour.

I just want to have a go-back-to-start-of-search/replace-all button! And I do
NOT say because Word has it, I say because it is an important and necessary
tool for people who work with texts seriously!

The new behaviour has been implemented because of many new users, who were used
to MS_Word-behaviour. That's okay. But what about all those OOo-users who are
accustomed to and love the old behaviour (like me)?!
I definitely want the possibility to have a choice.
Does everything which made OOo different from Word, have to disappear slow by
slow? This is not the right way, in my humble opinion.

This is imho a bug in version 2.2 and can be reproduced, doing the following:
Write some words on a first page. Then insert a manual break. Insert a TOC
(uncheck protected against manual changes). Now, when you go to Format -
Paragraph you can see on the tab Text Flow that Page Break is checked.
Now safe and close the document. Reopen it and you will see that the page break
has disappeared, the TOC is on the first page and its formatting is destroyed
(where the latter is not really the problem).

I don't agree. Admitted, it's not severe, but it is something that went fine
until version 2.1, and for people who expect this normal behaviour it might
be quite irritating when they start Draw and don't find the colours any more.
Above, I don't find it quite logical to lay a bug on ice which is absolutely
new! The ones who programmed it, should remember it very well NOW. The longer
you wait the more diificult it might become to find it :)

When starting Draw without any other module having been started, the color bar
is empty, it's only gray. You have to go to the menu view toolbars color
bar deaktivate it and then reactivate it again in order to make it visible.

This behaviour does not happen, when starting Draw out of another already
started module.

Also, when the color bar is docked to the right edge, whenever in Calc there is
a toolbar (by default the Function list) which is docked at the right edge,
too, both, color bar from Draw and function list in Calc, influence each other
at the start fof the module as far as the status hide/show is concerned.
Example: you start Calc, hide the function list. Then start Draw, the color bar
will bie hidden, too! And vice versa.

In a conditioned numbering style, when you press ENTER on another than the
first level, conditioned formatting of the line above gets corrupted.
In the attached document, the manner of creating this style is described and
the result can simply be seen by ENTERing in the second listing/numbering near
the end of the document (which is part of an explanation in Writer Guide for
Jean Hollis Weber at OOo.authors).
This fault was confirmed by Linux-users.
Regards,
Wolfgang

Hi kpalagin,
no problem ;)
Download the following document:
http://oooauthors.org/de/Vorlagen/Kapitelvorlage.odt

Now do the following. Open a new document, write some dummy text with the style
textbody (which must NOT be Bitstream btw., otherwise you won't see a change).
Now load a style. Check only frames, nothing else. Take the above mentioned
file as source. (I have this as a template, too: same effect)
Now your textbody should change to Bitstream.
At least on my computer it does: WinXP, OOo 2.1

When you load style from another document or template and you check only
frame (for example) but none of the other checkboxes, not even overwrite,
then nevertheless the text-styles are overwritten!
This can ruin your whole document when you only wanted to get a pre-made frame
or listing style.

The OOo Help is wrong in the following:
Topic is Linking Text Frames
The last sentence is: You can only change the height of the last frame in a
series of linked frames.
This is wrong, as you can change the height and width of ALL frames in a chain
of frames.

The feature of changing case in three steps from lower case to lower case
with upper case first letter to upper case is something, German users are
waiting for eagerly !
