I want to use the function File - versions - save new version and I marked
the tickbox always save a version when closing the file.

When I manually save a new version of my document, (click on save new
version), everything works as expected. However, when I close the document,
apparently no new version is saved, contrary to what the tickbox suggests.

I also tested 3.0.0 Beta BEB300m3 (Build 9328) and found that it still shows the
same faulty behaviour. However, I can also confirm that using OO's own file
open dialogue it works. With Vista's open dialogue, it still fails.

@rainerbielefeld

No ethnic concerns ;-)
I tried to open several files by double-clicking on the files in Win Explorer
and also to use the OO file open dialogue. Interestingly, the OO open dialogue
shows the correct path name and also file name, but when I hit open the error
message occurs (something like cannot open this file - sorry , the 3.0 beta is
on another computer) and shows funny letters instead of the German ä,ö, or ü.
When I move the file to another directory (without Umlaut) it works fine. I
don't know if it is Vista specific, but it sure is reproducible.

Hi all,

I just installed OO 3.0 beta on a PC/Vista System. On first attempt to open a
file to see how the new writer looks, I found that I cannot open the file when
the path leading to the file contains a German Umlaut. In my case it was the
German word Universität for university.

This seems to be an easy to fix but also important bug.

Hope this is useful - Joe

When I work in a reduced size window (i.e. the window is not maximized to full
screen mode) certain buttons in the symbol bar do not show up. When using the
obvious choice, the symbol in the upper right corner of the corresponding
symbol bar, I can access all buttons, BUT the drop down functionality is gone,
i.e. when I want to change the color of the text, it changes only to the colour
which is preset and I have no chance to choose.

This does not seem to be what the developers wanted. It is irritating, as it
suggests a functionality which does not exist.

[graphics-issues] [Issue 53514] Multiple avi's do not no d isplay in slideshow

I do not think that this happens only for very latge avis - I tried to embed
several short mpegs and avis into a presentation. Same thing: if one starts
witha slide which contains a movie, all movies will be displayed properly. If
one starts with a text-only slide, only the first few frames of the movie flash
up, then the movie disappears.

For a workaround, I set the first slide to contain a movie, then switch to the
real first slide (actually slide no.2), and everything goes smooth.
