I agree with atjensen's comment above: I have just (29th Aug) rebuilt my
OO3.2.1 database using a single AutoNum field as primary key instead of using
the three text keys as concatentated primary key. The problem was fixed.

For what it's worth this seems to be a problem that happens, to some people,
when they update to 3.2.1- the issue appears to me to be a problem with the
index in the database.

sorry for the delay in replying;
but to answer your questions:
a) no this seems no duplicate of issue 112520; no changes observed in the table;
and the only issue I have is that I cannot update existing records; which is a
big issue of course, as mentioned earlier
b) indeed only concerns big tables/databases
c) no repeated values discovered in the table at stake

and again I want to state that I do not observe any problems when using the
latest update of OOO Base version 3.2.0 OOO320m12 (build:9483) in Linux -
Ubuntu

Cheers,

I have exactly the same issue with OO3.2.1 under Win7 using HSQLDB. Mine is
only a single-table 1000 record database with three primary keys (all text) and
19 columns. There are no AutoNum fields. Fields were defined manually but data
was imported from Calc using the Copy wizard.
Fields will appear to amend when overtyped but when I click Save Record the
amended fields revert to their previous values.
In addition, I can add new records with no problem but cannot delete (or amend)
them.
The problem exists both when trying to update a table directly and via a form.

I have sight-checked the table and cannot discern any duplicated records. So it
does not appear to duplicate issues #111959 or #112520. .

I am trying to re-create this issue on an even smaller scale using synthetic
data – so far without success.

I cannot unfortunately append the .odb file as the contents are not mine and
are commercially sensitive.

Possible of duplicate of issue 112520.
This happens only with big table?
The table has repeated values?

Right
regarding request for more details the following:
first of all I have to admit that I experience this problem in only one of my
databases (the most precious one of course!); it is the largest one ( more than
3 Mb); other databases are in the range of 70 - 200 kb)

the workflow I use updating records is as follows:
- open the database
- open records in form template (not in table version; which cannot be updated
either btw)
- add / adjust a record
- then press button 'save record' on the toolbar below the record sheet
- and then everything I added or adjusted is wiped out again!

Hope this is useful information; enough to provide me with a solution

Many thanks
Wim

after upgrading to the latest version of OOO I can ad new records to an existing
database but am not able to adjust and update an existing record.
am also running OOO in Linux which still does the trick. this made me think the
issue is a flaw in latest upgrade. please advise me what to do: wait for
upgrade or is there easy solution by setting a preference in OOO?
