PostgreSQL understands the standard SQL syntax: CAST ( expression AS type ) I.e. this works in PostgreSQL: CAST ( '2005-08-20' AS Date ) According to their documentation, Oracle, HSQLDB and MySQL also accept this syntax. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
