time and the thing works. No crashing.

When trying to copy one of the queries in the query section, hoping I could
paste it to a new database.odb file that completely works, I get:

SQL Status: S1000
Error code: -29

File input/output error /mnt/myfiles/My Stuff.odb.backup java.io.IOException:

I got my laptop up, debian 2.0.4 version of openoffice. The database works just
fine when I accessed the tables and I can edit things freely, though kwin will
ask to terminate/keep running when closing a table. choosing the latter keeps it
running fine. What information between the non working PC version of 2.1 and the
laptop version of 2.0.4 would be useful to you in troubleshooting this?

opening the sensitive file as read only and attempting to reach the tables
didn't cause a crash, simply this:

SQL Status: S1000
Error code: -78

error in script file line: 3 File input/output errorerror java.io.IOException
opening file - file /mnt/myfiles/My Stuff.odb.data in statement [CREATE CACHED
TABLE "1969 Autographed World Series Mets Team Ball"]

And if you're wondering, I've got Gil Hodges on it. I get my new laptop battery
today so I'll be able to provide additional info from the laptop copy, assuming
that still works. Honestly, I think it could be something as simple as a missing
java package outside of OO, but JRE is installed just fine.

hmm honestly I was going to say yes to it happening everytime till I try what
you suggested. It made New Database.odb and accessed tables just fine.

Basically I open my ODB file and when I try to access the table section, the
whole program crashes. I have Java 1.5_02 installed. Something being wrong Java
is the only thing I can think of as to the cause. My laptop's debian 2.0.4
version of openoffice is currently on ice awaiting a new battery, but this
problem does NOT occur on that. It will probably make reproducing the error
rather difficult but I do have a backtrace.
