[dba-issues] [Issue 84051] "Load URL" in Base's stand ard toolbar does not show the location of the current document
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=84051 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Jan 28 07:45:47 + 2008 --- First, this control in the toolbar has at least 3 different uses, independent from in which application it is used: First, it displays the location of the current document. This is what the bug requested to fix, as it didn't work for Base before, but for all other document types. Second, it allows typing the location of an existing document, and by pressing enter, this document is opened. While doing so, the drop down list contains an auto-completed list of existing folders/files, much the same as in the internal File/Open dialog (in fact that's the same control). This worked in all applications even before this fix. Third, if you don't type anything into the box, then the drop down list contains a history of all previously opened files. What I see in your screen shot is a number of *.rpt files, which indicates you ran the SRB which produces such temporary files when executing a report. However, as far as I can tell, this was also the case before the fix: the drop down list displayed .rpt files. Also, it was, and is (in OO6680m4), the case in *all* applications I tested. So, my explanations for your screen shot are: The temporary SRB reports are listed there, and the previously opened documents are, too. However, what confuses me is that you say the list behaves differently in the different applications, this is something I couldn't reproduce. What I found is that the list does not display previously opened database documents, in neither application, which seems to be a bug in itself. (One for your "Where is Base?" list :) The fact that temporary report files are listed there sounds like a bug, too. Finally, the list is fed from the same data as the "File/Recently Used" sub menu, and in the latter, .rpts are not displayed, and .odbs are. So, this should be possible for the "Load URL"'s list box, too. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It does display and it displays a bung of file URL, but it does not act the same as it does when attached to any other document type. 1st, the test case does not specify whether this should be added to the standard toolbar for the specific Base file or for Base overall. I did it both ways. Both ways act the same, a list of file URLS is displayed. Exactly what this list is displaying is a bit beyond me as it seems to be only displaying items from temp locations or from a cache. There is no display of any Base files, if attached to a Base file and it is saved that is not displayed. If other files are opened they are not displayed. As I say it does not seem to offer any usable information - or at least not any information that is similar to what I get when I do this to a Writer document, a Calc document, a Draw Document. I attached a screen shot with the actual contents as displayed. If the Issue is just to display something then fine I'll close it - but if it was to display something useful then??? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Anyway, that's not too important (it hits me from time to time), so I think OOo Later and P4 is justified. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
