I just checked with the official OOO300m15 and it works perfectly.

Dragging 698 records (9 column) from a PostgreSQL-connected DB into a calc
spreadsheet (4 times at different locations within the spreadsheet) performs
well.

The column headers are set correctly.

Thus I set this one to WORKSFORME.

@buzzz: If this problem pertains with your 2000 records / 30 columns table,
could you be more specific on the datatypes and maybe you're able to supply some
demo data that help us reproducing your problem?

meanwhile I'm on opensuse 11.0/i586.

I had 2.4.1 installed, but that crashed every few seconds, even before I was
able to open a file, therefore I downgraded back to 2.4.0.
Both versions were from openoffice org, not the ones that come from opensuse.

So when I now try to paste the database into the spreadsheet, then soffice
starts to take 90% of CPU, and the KDE becomes unusable, you cannot click
with the mouse, or do anything with the keyboard. It is still possible to
switch to the console, and then kill the soffice program. I left soffice
running for 15 minutes before I killed it.
I'll retest before I leave today, then it can try to paste the table contents
into the spreadsheet over the night.

@buzzz: there is version 0.7.6 available of the native driver. Can you retry
with that one and report whether the problem persists?

assume the following:

* I've installed the postgresql driver: postgresql-sdbc-0.7.5.zip
* I connected openoffice to a postgresql database, using this driver
* in the tables view in base, there I have a table called company, containing
about 2000 records, and about 30 columns

Now the problem:
* in the table view, I right click on the company database, and select copy
* then I open a spreadsheet, and choose to paste in the whole table from the
database
* the values seem to be all in the correct position in the spreadsheet,
however, the headlines of the columns are not correct in the spreadsheet
anymore, so the headline name is over the column city and the headline of
column city is on top of column gender ... and so on.
