The Esperanto language appears in the list of spellcheckable languages. All of my new dictionaries are installed here : /home/alex/.openoffice.org2/user/wordbook so for me, it looks like this is working as planned, isn't it ? The problem was real, bizarre and I could not solved or explained it. I moved on to next build, worked very well.
