MS Office allow you to highlight a portion of text, or other portion of a
document, and drag it from the program window to the desktop where it becomes a
Document Scrap. If you left-click and drag, you can also choose to make your
fragment of text a Document shortcut, which when double-clicked both opens the
parent file AND takes you to the relevant point in that file. I believe these
tricks are done via MSWin's OLE features, but I'm not sufficiently technical to
be sure. I would love to see this very convenient feature in OOo. What do people
think?
