I checked the Task Manager for soffice.bin and there were three of them. I
deleted them, tried to open OO and it worked. Obviously those bin processes
should remove themselves once the program closes, and they're not. So how do you
fix it so that they do removes themselves on their own?

The problem isn't that it is a slow computer; it's only a few months old and not
cheap.

Thanks in advance!

On slow PCs I saw this sometimes, when double-click the icon a second time,
before opening from the first double-click has finished. Then I could see two
processes of soffice.bin in the task manager. Please, if you are again in the
situation, that you cannot open OOo, have a look in the task manager, whether
more than one process "soffice.bin" is running.

I've installed OpenOffice 3.1 on my laptop. I'm running Vista Home, 64 Bit. I
can use Office a couple of times during the day and close it. Then when I try
to open it again later it won't open at all.

Sometimes this happens after using OO once. Other times it happens after using
it 2, 3, or more times.

Rebooting always fixes it and lets me open it again. However, this is a pain.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
