2010 ---
I've tried to reproduce the problem with OOo 3.3 RC2 (see
http://download.openoffice.org;):

- opened a document
- opened the Find  Replace dialog
- then closed the document via the close button top right and also via menu
File - Close
- in both cases no crash

Please can you try it also with the RC2 version and report here your results?

When opening any type of file (.doc, .docx, .ppt, etc) in Open Office 3.2.1, 
and 
then hitting CTRL+F or opening the Find box will cause the entire suite 
(meaning 
if you have powerpoints and/or spreadsheets and/or documents and/or etc) if you 
close the main file with the Find box still up.
