A while ago we had to write quite a lot of reports for some schoolwork and we
were doing it in one of our Linux classes. Twice we managed to lose most of our
work as the documents came up scrambled and destroyed. Later we found out that
the problem was that Oo seems to write first in the /tmp folder and when /tmp is
full, the save is interrupted and the cut-off version is written over the
orginal one.

I think this also happened when we tried to make a PDF, but I guess Ooo saves
the document before doing the PDF conversion.

I remember getting "could not save" messages occasionally, so this may also be
quite OS / HW specific problem. The linux class has thin terminals that connect
to a linux cluster.

If I recall correctly the version of Ooo we used was 1.1.4 (or 1.1.2).
