tl: the hyphenator is okay, I didn't check the code again but I just tested
it. User hyphenation dictionaries have priority over system ones.

tl: this can be tested by installing the German thesaurus
(http://www.openthesaurus.de/download/thes_de_DE_v2.zip) into the
system dir. Searching for Haus should give results. Then install the
attached test thesaurus. Now search should give results now instead of xxx
and zzz.

I'll have a look at the hyphenation again when I have time.

tl-dnaber: your analysis looks fine to me. I'm going to insert that break
statement.

Just to allow QA to verify this issue properly: Do you have two different
version of the thesuraus with at least one word different so QA may install both
(the old in the share tree and the new in the user tree) and will be able to see
the effect of the fix?
If so please attach them to this issue.

tl-dnaber: why do you think the hyphenator has the same problem?

Looking at the code in hyphenimp.cxx it seems everything is fine since the user
dictionary gets used first if available:

: OString uTmp(OU2ENC(userdictpath +
DictFN,osl_getThreadTextEncoding()));
: OString sTmp(OU2ENC(dictpath + DictFN,osl_getThreadTextEncoding()));
...
:if ( ( dict = hnj_hyphen_load ( uTmp.getStr() ) ) == NULL )
:   if ( ( dict = hnj_hyphen_load ( sTmp.getStr()) ) == NULL )

CVS rights.
Please proceed.

TL-dnamber: Since you stated the office was restarted successfully and yet the
problem is there, it seem to me like a problem of the thesaurus implementation.
Probably the implementation giving the results found in user/dict/ooo precedence
over the ones found in user/wordbook (where the downloaded dictionaries get
installed). From the user point of view the downloaded dictionaries should get
precedence.
Thus someone need to have a look at the code.

tl: Having a look at the code was what I did, see my comments :-) Please don't
excpect a patch from me (unless there's a VMWare somewhere that contains OOo
source where I just need to type make to make it build).
