I suggest, stick in the above patch for now and we could long-term work towards e.g. moving the whole pile of foo into binfilter and iteratively remove most-derived downwards the legacy containers in favour of an stl solution. I had a patch somewhere for the dynarray ones, but discarded (prematurely I think) because my first cut made OOo bigger. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. There are too many interdependencies as you can see.. I also don't think that making those old container structures use 64bit is actually wanted. However, as for svx/source/dialog/numfmt.cxx the change mentioned in #desc14 -#define NUMKEY_UNDEFINED ULONG_MAX +#define NUMKEY_UNDEFINED SAL_MAX_UINT32 should do it, but the if ( aLbFormat.GetSelectEntryPos() == LIST_APPEND ) is a total mess now. The code anyway doesn't work with more than 32k entries, see all the aLbFormat.*EntryPos related short and USHORT values. Looks like changing the return value of SvxFontListBox::GetSelectEntryPos() to 32bit was a half-hearted approach, as SelectEntryPos() still takes only sal_uInt16 values and LISTBOX_ENTRY_NOTFOUND and similar listbox control structures are still 16bit. Note that in early days all containers were limited to 64k entries ... - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It is not reworked by purpose since too many places reworked at a time is no good idea, You just lose control (and it's too much code in OOo anyways). The old list classes are based on those 'IMPL_/DECL_* macro stuff which internally uses 32Bit values, they nearly always use the 32bit Max values for some info/comparisons (sometimes even the MAX-1, MAX-2 values, be warned). I would prefer to find a way to let the old stuff just live untouched for security reasons. I know, 64bit would be better for that lists, and i would love to have it, but - as can be seen with the comparisons - changing that is not possible since unpredictable and highly dangerous. Those old lists are still used in many core functionalities like ItemSets (as just one example). The only safe way to change this from my point of view is to keep that stuff on 32bit values. It will be reworked over time, but not during the 64bit changes. It's a job for Years. So i would recommend to change the comparing part of the comparisons to 32bit, too, for the time those old lists are used and keep the comparisons practically unchanged for now.
