It is located at desktop/source/deployment/registry/executable. Currently there is a hack in registry/package/dp_package.cxx that prevents that the result of the isRegistered() of the executable backend is used to calculate the overall status of the extension. To remove this it is necessary to properly implement BackendImpl::ExecutablePackageImpl::isRegistered_ ( dp_executable.cxx).
