Remark: When you deploy the package on unix platforms via OOo extension manager, in the same OOo-session you will get a corrupt (namelesse) node in Run macros in the macro treee. Fixing this is time consuming and risky, so I leave this for now as it is. Restarting the office fixes the problem. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The documentation of com.sun.star.script.provider.XScriptURIHelper leaves me without a clue to what its functionality should be, so I do not really understand what the problem is. Can you explain how you use XScriptURIHelper and how that fails now? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It seems, that shared packages get installed to $BRAND_BASE_DIR/share/uno_packages (see uno.ini) while shared scripts get installed to $OOO_BASE_DIR/share/Scripts (don't know, where is is configured) . The scripting/source/provider/URIHelper.cxx in its current state can't cope with the fact, that there are two different root directories. It is a bug, that there are 2 differnt root directories or is the URIHelper.cxx the bug ? When I implemented the scripting framework for python a few years ago, I asked for this helper to encapsulate this (somewhat magic) script uri handling, unfortunately I seem to be the only user of this helper Bye, Joerg - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The installation fails on a fresh OOo3 installation (at least on both WinXP and Linux .deb), with the same error, except that $UNO_USER_PACKAGES_CACHE is replaced with $UNO_SHARED_PACKAGES_CACHE. That's why I'm reopening this issue, since it doesn't seem to be specific to user scripts. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=95118 Issue #|95118 Summary|Cannot deploy python macros in add-on Component|framework Version|OOo 3.0 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|scripting Assigned to|ab Reported by|fhatat --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Oct 18 12:51:54 + 2008 --- I'm trying to deploy a Python macro (i.e. which can be run from Tools/Macros/Run macro) with an extension, using an entry of the following form in manifest.xml: ?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8? manifest:manifest manifest:file-entry manifest:full-path=python/ manifest:media-type=application/vnd.sun.star.framework-script;type=Python/ /manifest:manifest (It's the same code as in issue #93806, yet the problems are different). The installation of the extension fails, with the message: Cannot expand package for vnd.snd.star.expand:$UNO_USER_PACKAGES_CACHE/uno_packages/2B.tmp_/pyscript.oxt/python/ You can use the attachment pyscript.oxt provided in issue #93806 to reproduce this bug. The problem happens also without the ;type=Python part in manifest.xml. I also get the same error, with USER replaced by SHARED when asking the extension manager to install the extension for all users. I know there are lots of issues with PyUno and OOo3, yet none of the workarounds mentionned on http://udk.openoffice.org/python/python-bridge.html seem to apply to my case (workaround #1 about the scripting framework doesn't help). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
