Baskerville Handcut was indeed installed on my system already. But the .odp file, which was converted some time ago from a .ppt file, had as its label for the font Baskerville Hancut, not Baskerville Handcut as it should. So naturally OO could not find the font. How Hancut got in I have no idea, because I don't think I would have put it in by hand, but rather selected it from a list. Oh, well, it can't be helped now. Within Impress, the font does not display correctly on screen until the Slide master is reset to Baskerville, even though it already shows that Baskerville is the font that the Slide master is set to. I suspect that the problem may have arisen because the file in question was originally converted from a Microsoft ppt file, using the conversion filter in OO.
