Re-installing a fresh installation may solve it. The fact that turning off hardware acceleration makes the PNG problem go away indicates that it is caused by the DirectX/GDI canvas. Both the edit view and the Presenter Console do not use the DirectX/GDI canvas. For the non visible graphics: please try to deactivate under Tools/options/View/ graphics output the option "use hardware acceleration".
