Process soffice.bin uses around 200 MB of memory. No freeze, no crash. How much RAM do you have in your system and is this an official OOo version you are using? This crash falls into another 95% where I do not get crash reporter, so no stack ID. I just tried CLASS2.PPT in 3.1 - opening takes 60 times more time then 3.0.0 needs, slide show is unbeleivably slow and after ending slide show Impress froze on me with 100% CPU usage and I had to kill Office.
