I guess the question is should a user be allowed to create a table of a size that can hinder the perceived performance of Impress? (Making this a UI limitation issue) Or Is this an issue with the table generation itself, since it should be able to handle any size table the UI allows? I guess I should note that even if the UI does limit table sizes in Impress it's still possible to copy and paste table of significant size from applications like Writer (which could have large tables). So limiting the UI would only reduce the risk of this issue from occurring. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I make the difference between the possibilities, and the real use of Impress, and I got a question : do you really think to present a 70 x30 table using a presentation tool ? A intensive Impress tool user (I do all my courses since a while using it, mostly on Mac), over 5x5 table, the content becomes unreadable for my students. Of course, you are right, the tool should work better, I fully agree, but try 70 x 30 looks a non sense with that tool. Nevertheless, I'll keep the idea when working on performance issues with Impress ;-) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This gets worse the larger the table; a table of 70 x 100 seems to leave Impress in a non-responsive state for over 10 minutes. While these values may not represent a typical user entry value it’s still a valid value that can be entered by the user either on purpose or accidentally that seems to make Impress unresponsive for a significant period of time. Note: generating a table with 100 rows is possible using the table toolbox GUI (Table Icon on tool bar) at a screen resolution of 1600 x 1200. Configuration: Mac OS X (10.6.1) OO 3.2 DEV300m60 (Build: 9425) 1. Launch Open Office 2. Create an empty Impress (Presentation) 3. Generate a table of 70 columns and 30 rows 4. Observe the approximate time it takes - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
