I have tried this with the current original version of OO under Ubuntu 9.10,
everything is fine there :)

But it took me half a day to get OO3.1.1 running under Ubuntu. There must be an
easier way to the most popular free office software to run under the most
popular free linux...

Sorry not reproducible with OOo 3.1.1 Please make sure that these issues appear
with the original version from OOo, too and not only with the Ubuntu version.

This happens in the latest OO version 3.1.1 on Ubuntu Linux 9.10.
(OOo310m19 build:9420 in openoffice.org-core1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1 )

Here is how to reproduce the behavior:

* Create a new presentation document
* (pick a simple layout: e.g. header line plus main part as bulleted text)
* Type a line of text on the first slide
* mark half of the text
* use "format" -> "character" -> "subscript" to make
the marked characters a subscript (superscript has same behavior)
* so far everything looks fine
* now click with the mouse somewhere outside the text box
* now the appearance of the subscript text changes, the spacing between the
characters gets so small that one cannot read the subscript any more :(
* in presentation mode (full screen mode) the ugly appearance stays the same :(

I will attach a small presentation document for quicker reproduction of this
behavior.

It does not happen with the same document in OO 3.1.1 on WinXP.
