I've read it and see that Impress tables have almost the same purpose and set
of
available features as Writer ones (but both differ from Calc tables).

1. Why it's impossible to use whole table code (implementation of objects, UI,
default design patterns) from Writer without OLE?
2. Table contents could be transfered into Impress, e.g., in form of HTML
table,
containing custom formatting for each cell

I believe that OLE object solution would be quite ok, if it would work
correctly. The current behaviour makes OLE objects completely unusable, but
unfortunately all issues concerning this problem (Issue 72879, Issue 81143 and
others) are handled with very low priority.

@annulen:
May be you will be interested in additional information from specification draft
in a.m. URL?

1. There are some problems with OLE: it's needed to tune cropping and it drives
me nuts
2. I really don't understand why I "have to". Who decided it's the best way?
Why not to add "blank" design alongside with others? Why not to import custom
settings of cells?

I dislike the new Table style behaviour feature in DRAW and IMPRESS, but it's
"as intended".

You simply have to create a WRITER OLE object in the Impress sheet, there you
can insert the table with WRITER style and formatting.

When copying table fro Writer to Impress, one of default designs is
automatically applied. But I want to copy table "as is", e.g., with custom
background and foreground colors I've set in Writer. All this settings are lost
on copying. Also, it's not easy task to copy simple "black on white" table
from Writer to Impress
