The problem was that I had not deleted my .openoffice.org directory in my $HOME directory after upgrading to the new version of OOo. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=113299 --- Additional comments from peterlsc...@openoffice.org Wed Jul 21 17:07:03 + 2010 --- I'm using an original OOo version, downloaded from the OOo website as OOo_3.2.1_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm-wJRE_en-US.tar.gz which when untarred yields OOO320_m18_native_packed-1_en-US.9502 which I then installed, following the install instructions on the OOo download web page, via the RPMS (not the "setup" script). I don't think I have any other distro packages installed. I am using Scientific Linux 5.5, which is more or less a clone of RHEL 5.5.
