(Aleksander Lipski, 19/01/2011) I have confirmed this behavior on DEV300m99.
Here is an alternative set of replication steps:
Steps
1. Start Impress with Empty presentation.
2. Add slides to the slides pane (left side) in order have scrollbar visible so
there is no possibility to see 1st and last slides on the same view.
3. Select 1st slide.
4. Scroll down to the end of the slides pane and select last slide with pressed
CTRL key (both slides should be selected)
5. Copy selected slides by using CTRL+C shortcut or by clicking Copy from
Edit menu.
The selection view jumps after copying the slides from the view of the last
selected slide to the view of the 1st selected slide.
This behavior is inconsistent with the way that MO PowerPoint and Windows
Folders handle similar steps. In both cases the selection never changes under
same circumstances.
This above behavior is also inconsistent with the Impress itself. When the
scrollbar in step 4 is moved (in either way) after selection of the last slide
and if then we copy the slides the view is of selection is not jumping.
