Not sure what my graphics card is and all (I'm on my work machine) but something tells me this is an issue having to do with a specific config of graphics cards, monitors, service packs, etc.. In other words probably not very reproducable. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Reassigning. Andre could you please have a look if this is possible somehow? Thanks. The underlying slides react though their document does not have the focus. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This is a feature that other applications have, too (mouse over effects of toolbar buttons for instance). That is usefull when you click in the unfocused window and by that a) bring the focus to the application and b) select the object under the mouse. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Is it possible that that is a screen shot that you modified for illustration? In the description above you mention the mouse over indicator (or so I understand it), but the image shows a selection frame painted over the other window. Moreover, the selection frame has rounded corners at the lower end (as it should be) but sharp corners at the top. Please describe the problem in more detail. Does it appear with all documents? Is there unusual hardware involved (graphics card)? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Whenever the mouse gets within the border of the preview picture, the border line gets repainted as described. No click is neccessary. You ask for problems with hardware. Well at least the hardware is able to be used with games, not having any problems there. But ok: - its ATI Rage 128 AGP, meanwhile an elder card. - driver ATI Rage 128 GL AGP, version 5.0.2195.1 Another point: There was a comment, that says, that it is usual behaviour, that mouseover also works in applications, that don't have the focus. I was surprised first, but this right! The differnece is: they only update their own surface ;-) if no one else can see the effect, then it might be ok to do it later. But if more people can see it, then I really would appreciate it, that the bug gets fixed. Not because its so dramatically, but the impression of any new user will be: this is not a real good product, can I trust it? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. So its a bug in impress either. Besides this, it is wrong, that the backgound application tries to refresh, although it not has the focus. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
