I agree that this is an issue to be resolved. However, the solution hat to wait
until OOo 3.0

THere was a large clean up done in the year 2000 for all resources. I found the
old research in hard copies. (plus old internal task 73552)
There had been an overlap and misunderstanding about the difference between
Hilfslinien and Fanglinien in all apps. The result of the research and
discussion with CJ and DL at that time was that our "Fanglinien" are always
magnetic and can be turned on and off. Hilfslinien are not magnetic. (I do not
know if these criteria have changed since then.)

The terminology cleanup was done like this:
Hilfslinien = Guides
Fanglinien = Snap lines

Present issue:

In the View menu spec
http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/menus/ViewMenu.sxw
"Führungslinien" was introduced as a completely new term in SO/OOo as the German
for the English "Guides", which on the View menu replaced the previous SO/OOo
term "snap lines".

The renaming of the term on the View menu resulted in the inconsistency.
I say that the term on the View menu should be changed back to the old term so
that consistency can reign again on the UI. Otherwise 27 strings have to be
changed in all apps and I do not know if ROI is worth the effort because the old
terms do not seem to be incorrect.

Reassigning to MMP because that was his spec and he might disagree. IF so,
please coordinate the correction of the 27 remaining "snap" strings. Otherwise
have view menu change back to "snap lines" (incl submenu) Those are the only
four strings that use the term "Führungslinien" and probably that definition of
"Guides".

Liz->CJ/WG:
These strings are at least 5 years old, so they can wait a bit longer. Not 2.0.1
but a minor release soon after that, please. Setting to 2.0.2 for lack of a
later minor to use.

Must be researched and probably a "water lilly" cleaned up at the same time
because the terminology also appears elsewhere on the UI.
