I don't know how to assess whether this is a problem or not. Tabbing (with the
tab key or the demote icon) moves text from one outline level to the next. The
formatting of the text is then controlled by the Master slide, which is defined
by the template. Which template is in use? What text formatting does it specify
for outline slides?

Here's a variation of what I did to create the question.
I opened a MS PowerPoint template.
I picked a layout that had no bullet list options.
I wrote three lines of text.
Then I highlighted all three lines of text.
I then left-hand clicked on the bulleting icon to create three lines of
bulleted text.
Then I moved the cursor to the middle bulleted line of text and pressed the
tab key on my keyboard.
The text moved over to the right. The bullet changed its appearance but the
text remained the same size.

Hope that helps with the question.

(Justin Kelley 9/11/2005)

My specs are as follows:
- OO 2.0 Beta
- Dell Dimension XPS PC
- Windows XP Professional SP2
- Pentium 4 3.8 GHz Processor
- 2.0 GB DDR RAM

I was able to replicate, then compared the results to MS PowerPoint like the
reporter did. In my case, the results were somewhat different. The bullet
type did change, but not to a different type each time like PowerPoint. The
same type was reused every other level. Regarding the font size, it decreased
only up to the fourth level. After that the size remained static, and so did
the bullet type.

Specifically, what font was used when this report was filed? This would be
important because each font type displays differently.

Considering font displays are critical to almost any text based application, I
would rank this issue with a high level of importance.

I did not have a problem with this. I created new bullets and added text and
then proceeded in tabbing to the right, so as to make the tabbed bullet a
further subsection of the main bulleted item. It seems that describing this
process is a little difficult. When I performed the operation the bullet
icons did get smaller as well as the text.

We couldn't replicate the bug on either of the two systems. When we typed in
the slide and used the Demote button the text would become a smaller font
size.
