I would not call that useable even if you could click on that painted garbage. We had to drop this feature for now mainle because we added support for hardware accelerated slideshows. I think a feature that many user waited for and not much users are using controls for slideshows. Sure we will readd this feature, but the target milestone depends on our workload and other priorities.
