I can follow your steps. How does the cursor look like after applying the style to the rectangle? Is it still the paintcan? With this active I cannot select the rectangle. Please try to click on the paintcan icon in the stylist to deactivate it. The browser should become an arrow again. And now I can select the rectangle without a problem. Please have a look if this helps. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Also I could not find what part of the style would make the object non-selectable (or maybe a better way to say it is read-only ?) The other thing to note is that the rectangle in the attachment cannot be selected by clicking on it with the mouse, but it CAN be selected, by using the mouse to draw a selection rectangle around the entire rectangle. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Apply the new style to a shape using the paintcan on the Styles and Formating window. Now I cannot select the shape with a mouse click. I just click on the shape and it will not select the shape. I just tried this now by creating a new custom shape linked to object without fill and changed nothing - no borders, no fonts, no animation. place a brand new shape in the document, can select it and unselect (select another part of the document) fine. Once I apply the custom style it's no longer selectable. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. In my instance OO is applying the style I want. So the style I want is applied. The formatting or color or whatever is changed. Now, after the style is applied I try to select the shape (maybe to resize it using the handles, maybe to change the text inside) - and I cannot select the shape with the mouse. I click on the shape and no handles appear. The shape does not go into the state where it can be moved or edited or re-sized. OO just seems to ignore the mouse clicks on the shape. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
