Luckily, it was an opening keynote and the conference organizer’s announcements took long enough for me to re-import my video clips. I am able to reproduce this defect using OOo-dev 3.0 on Windows XP with .mpg, .wmv and .avi files, but only for .ppt formatted files, not .odp formatted files. How I reproduced this defect: Setup: Launch Impress, create new file with 3 slides, embed .mpg on slide 1, .wmv. on slide 2, .avi on slide 3, play slide show (all three movies play), save file (once as .odp, once as .ppt), close file, but not Impress. *Note* when saving in .ppt format, I did observe a message stating that “some formatting or content may not be compatible with the .ppt format.” (Screenshot attached “Format_Warning.jpg”). This may have been a work around implemented in OOo-dev 3.0. I didn’t pay any attention to the message at first because I’m used to similar messages appearing any time a file is saved in other than the native format. Steps: 1. re-open .odp (all three movies play), close .odp, re-open .ppt (no movies) 2. close Impress, re-launch impress, open .ppt (no movies), close .ppt, open .odp (all three movies play) 3. Reboot, re-launch impress, open .odp (all three movies play) close .odp, open .ppt (no movies) 4. launch PowerPoint, open .ppt (no movies) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. But, on saving and then re-opening the presentation, the object is lost from the slide. Happens with both PPT and ODT formats. On closing the presentation again, Impress reports that the document has been modified and offers to save. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
