So I will close this issue as printing on network printers under Win98 normally works. But i've tried two or three printers with official drivers (Xerox, HP, Brother). Version 1.1.4 of OOo works fine. The local printer (com-port) works fine also. Does it work for you with a local printer (eve if you don't have one it is sufficient to just install the corresponding driver and print into a file afterwards). May be you can try this even with a different printer driver than the one you're currently using to see if it makes a difference. What printer driver are you using exactly (name, version number) ?
