I tested the following commands in the case of 1-4.

cat ~/.openoffice.org2.0/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Common.xcu |
grep -A 5 'Input'

Then able/disable of 'Input Method Status' was correctly reflected in the
configuration file in the case of 2, 4.
I'm guessing that the setting of false is not correctly read when OOo
restarted(case of 3).

Request
In short, please determine the initial appearance of Input Method status
window following the status saved in the file
 user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Common.xcu
in which the status is recorded when the status is changed.

Current Behavior
Controlling the appearance of Input Method status window through the menu
works well, but the Input Method status window always appears at start up
regardless of the status saved in the file Common.xcu.

  1. Start OpenOffice.org on UNIX platform.
  2. Turn off the Input Method status window by choosing View - Input Method
status.
 The status window disappears.
  3. Exit.
  4. Start OpenOffice.org again. The status window shows up.
  5. Choose View - Input Method status. Nothing happens.
  6. Choose View – Input Method status again. The window disappears.

User Scenario
At the beginning of using OpenOffice.org with an Input Method, most users
think an Input Method status window is helpful to know the status of the
 Input Method.

As the users become to be accustomed to OpenOffice.org, they gradually start
to change his/her mind and think the window bothers their work because it
hides
their document. They start to want to know how to erase the window and then
make it by choosing View – Input Method status.

What makes experienced users confused is that step 4 to 6 listed above are
needed to erase the status window under current implementation every time they
 start OpenOffice.org.
