There is a problem with changing the link to be relative: the link gets adjusted
in the package postinstall script to be able to install the office to a
different location then /opt/openoffice.org, but still have a working desktop
integration.

The adjusting script queries the package database for the install location of
OOo, and this query always returns a full qualified path. Of hand I don't see a
way how to easily convert this into a relative path in a shell script.

One option might be to move the desktop integration packages to a different sub
folder as it is for on Linux, but I am not sure if the solves your problem ..

Hi,

I am not sure to understand the reason why it seems to be complicated to correct
this problem. But this is no big deal as there is at least one easy modification
that make things work properly (modification after installation of the symbolic
link to the correct location).

Regards.

Eric Bouyoux.

The scenario I was trying to describe is:

1. create myadmin with BASEDIR set to /where/I/want/my/office
2. run pkgadd -a myadmin all package except desktop integration one(s)
3. run pkgadd desktop integration package(s)

this adjusts the link to: /etc/openoffice.org-1.9 - /where/I/want/my/office
by running pkginfo -r core package.

But actually you are right, a simple '..' prefix should be sufficient.

Hi,

Point 1) of the issue is NOT correct and can be removed.
Point 2) is still valid. Changing the /opt reference to ../opt by hand makes the
installation work properly.

Regards.

Eric Bouyoux.
