Fixed by introducing files root3.dat, root4.dat and root5.dat, that never get
the PATCH flag. Therefore the three core packages will never be empty.

OBR->IS: the symbolic link approach for not yet provided OOo updates starts to
strike back ;-): the core04 package is completely empty now, which is treated as
"uninstalled" on dpkg.

As a result, the core01 package can not be installed as it depends on core04,
and all packages depending on core01 can not be installed either.

A short term workaround would be to make core01 no longer depend on core04
(instead maybe on core04u ?), but long term we should think about how to address
updates differently ..

Hi, don't know if is debian dpkg that has changed (I have debain sid, and I
update it frequently), but having m198 installed and then installing m199 .debs
build by Pavel Janik
(http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680/)
dpkg -i *.deb (of course, after unpacking the tar.gz and wgetting langpacks
.debs)
produces an output that, seems to me, is very different than usual (the packages
seems installed correctly, in any case, but their status is "iU" instead of
"ii"):
asgard:/z/openoffice/m199/DEBS# dpkg -i *.deb
