As I see, in OO.o is possible to use variables, defining dialog controls as 
part 
of translatable strings
(a good example - and only one - is the string in 
sw/source/ui/table/convert.src 
- "The first%POSITION_OF_CONTROLrows"), where variable marks control element.
This feature should be used more widely, because there are many strings forming 
a sentence together with controls, in different languages word order in 
sentence 
is different, etc.
Using this makes translatable string better readable and better translatable.
