Isn't this now resolved by issue 108675 which added Latgalian as a language

*** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 108675 ***

Hi!

monitoring the introduction of a lot of new locales and dialects in OO, I would
like to know how can be the introduction of Latgalian dialect achieved to make
possible development of respective language tools.
I want to point that Latgalian and Latvian, allthough considered by some being
about the same, have different word making rules and words itself.

If the OO development team is not the right place to rise that issue, please
advice me whom I have to disturb to start solving the issue. It must be solved
in the name of all dialects existing around the world and having their own
specifics despite the discrimination set in ISO's pretending the dialects not
existing.

@jancs: Most certainly you don't like to hear the answer, but: from the core and
file format perspective you can't, as there is no distinct language/country code
combination. From the spell-checker perspective there may be a possibility to
choose a dictionary to use during runtime.

@tl: Thomas, is that the case?

Of course it will always be possible to provide dictionaries for whatever
language and 'sell' them on to the linguistic as some language you do not use
e.g. 'da-DK'. By then formatting all text to 'Danish' you can make the
linguistic use those dictionaries and everything will be fine if you don't mind
having an incorrect language attribute set.

Well, yes, that might be a workaround on a personal level, wouldn't help though
if documents are to be exchanged. Also, number formats and some keywords used in
fields would be Danish in this case.

Dialects currently can't be used as a distinguished language. The only
identifiers understood are xx_YY and xxx_YY where xx is an ISO 639-1 language
code respectively xxx an ISO 639-3 code and YY an ISO 3166 country code. It
works for English-US/GB/AU because the country differs.

On a long term perspective it is planned to enhance this to RFC 4646 language
tags where the ISO 639_3166 combination isn't sufficient, and support ISO 15924
for the matter of scripts.

May be not the right place, but -
how can I make OO able to use only Latgalian aff/dic for spellchecking if the
Latvian aff/dic also exists and not confuse Latgalian text with Latvian because
of some similarities in language?

To anyone to whom it may concern:

can someone tell me what procedure to follow to introduce into OO the Latgalian
dialect of Latvian language (like US or Australian English for English), for
example : lv_LG (LT does not suite as it may be confused with Lithuanian).
