I have similar problems with matrices (issue 106162), but cannot produce a
scenario, where it fails always. My suspicion is, that it is connected to using
names for ranges. Are there any names involved in your case?

* description: see summary
* reproducability: difficult
* solution: work-around

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

My sheet contains several matrix multiplications. After inserting or deleting
lines above, the first element disappears, and depending calculations corrupt.
Moving matrices around by cutting and pasting it to a the new location also may
make the first element disappear in dependent matrices.

In the screenshot, M120:P123 is such a matrix, where M120 disappeared. The
depending matrix S143:Z146 now displays #VALUE.

The corrupted matrices are always given by matrix formulas, in the current case
  {M120:P123}={=MINVERSE(M110:P113)}
The curly brackets are the consequence of using ctrl-shift-enter for applying
the matrix formula.

REPRODUCABILITY

Although I encounter this bug quite regularly, I cannot reproduce it at will,
making it hard to track down the cause, or to provide an stripped down example.
The bug occurs in several different files. The corrupted matrix defies a
recalculation attempt (F9), and also defies a save document - exit Open Office -
reload document cycle. I use the Quickstarter, so I am not sure whether a faulty
states persists in memory.

WORK AROUND

Two techniques have been applied successfully to repair the corrupt matrix:

* Pressing `Undo' until the corrupted matrix is restored in correct form, and
then `Redo' to undo your undoings. One should expect the bug to occur again, but
it doesn't, which is one of the reasons I have a problem with reproducability

* Cutting and pasting the corrupted matrix in the same location: Select the
corrupt matrix, and execute the ctrl-X ctrl-V sequence.
