So I consider this issue is fixed. Something is strange when I copy and paste one cell to another through contextual menu obtained with a direct right click on cells: the paste operation is often very fast, and it is sometimes very slow, but it always ends well !! Normally I have to kill the task because I have no more life signs from the app(s) (not responding), but last time I got the crash save file screen followed by the crash report screens. I was happy for this enhancement, but I discovered later on in the after crash saved file the conditional formatting is not working anymore. If I select cells F28:J28 then copy by ctrl+C then select F29:J365 and paste by ctrl+V, the update of the sheet is instantaneous after I have validated the warning saying that non empty cells will be overwritten. It is what you do ? Tested with OOo 3.1.1 RC1 under Ubuntu 8.04. About the crash report : when OOo crash, the recovery function ask you to send an automatic report on this crash to Sun. You have just to add some data (your email, a comment if you want) and click the send button. After that you will receive an automatic mail informing you that the crash report has been received and giving you its ID. You can add this ID in a comment to this issue. After having selected cells F28:J28, clicking on the right lower corner of this selection (where there is a small black square) gives a mouse cursor which is a cross (+), dragging from this point extends the selection and paste the content of the selected cells in the new cells selected. Did you erase the cells F29:J365 before the operation ? When I erase the contend of let us say 10 lines (F29:J38), it is OK. If I try to erase the content of F29:J365 Calc crashes ! I get no warning when I paste in cells already containing formulas. When the problem occurs, I must close Calc, I can't do anything else. When I open again the file, Calc only suggests a restoration of the file. So I never sent any report to Sun.
