Although the original report is for linux, I'd like to add that I'm
experiencing the same issue on
the OS X version. Case being changed in file paths, copy/paste not preserving
case in file paths,
find/replace not preserving case in file paths. I guess any editing of file
paths.

OOo v3.2.1
OOO320m18(build:9502)

OSX 10.5.8

a similar problem with formula and named ranges

OOo 3.2 Linux & WinXP

case 1.
define a named range AAA_bbb
type a formula in another cell =AAA_bb
the case is ok, and the formula works

case 2.
without defining a named range
type a formula in a cell =CCC_ddd
it show a #Name? (that is ok)
BUT
the formula is now lowercase =ccc_ddd

this is a real problem when dealing with macros, api and database

When entering or editing a file link in a formula the entire path and file name
are set to all lower case. A quick test show this to go back as far as 3.0.0.9.

Additional: when an existing spread sheet is loaded, path case is preserved and
the formula works as expected until an edit is made to the formula (any edit -
not necessarily to the link path). When an Excel format (.xls) is copied to
another location, case is preserved but the link path remains an exact copy of
the original. When a Calc spreadsheet is copied to another location, the entire
path is lower cased - probably because the path is altered to reflect to new
path.

All test spread sheets were originally developed with Calc - mostly pre-3.0
versions. Case is preserved in the formula until it is entered into a cell.

Test: enter a formula into a cell. Using the mouse or simply type a link to
another file with mixed or all upper case elements. The formula bar will
display the correct text for the link. Hit enter, the review the cell where the
formula was stored. All upper case elements are changed to lower case.
