I copied the table from 

http://www.mountainviewcoins.com/mintage-US-coins/mintage-US-coins-barber-
dimes.php 

not including the column headers nor totals, and pasted into a spreadsheet in 
Calc and the entire table was pasted into a single cell. 

The result was the same when:

Either using "Cntl+C" to copy, or by right-clicking on the hi-lited text and 
selecting "copy" from the pop-up menu.

And

Either using "Cntl+P" to paste, or by right-clicking on the hi-lited text and 
selecting "paste" from the pop-up menu, or by selecting "edit" on the menu bar 
and then selecting "paste". 

I WAS able to copy the table from the web page to Excel and then copy from 
Excel to Calc without problem.
