2.3.1 is only for the most important fixes. I added this to CWS "calc44" for OOo
2.4. Thanks for the patch.

This is sort of a regression caused by the fix for Issue 14927, which
unintentionally unmarks the current cell when the user double-clicks the cell.
The action of unmarking also hides the cursor within, hence the bug.

Looking into a bit, I then realized that the fix for Issue 14927 may not be the
direct cause of this breakage but it may have just exposed the pre-existing
condition. All I did was to return from ScGridWindow::MouseButtonUp when the
cell is double-clicked and the edit mode activated, to prevent any other calls
to be made within that method.

I already have seen friends (who I have recommended StarOffice) searching
irritated for the cursor after performing a double click on a cell.

Is it possible to set a 2.x target for this bug? I think fixing should not be a
big effort.

This is such a bug that comes out on "everyday usage" and irritates some users.

This is odd. I was doing some follow-up testing, and now I’ve ran into the bug.
I double click on any cell and the cursor does not appear until I either click
on the same cell again of hit an arrow key. I closed the application down and
restarted, the bug is still evident. I was not able to recreate the bug the
first time that I ran Calc after installing OOo 2.0.1.

Sorry about that, I should have done some more testing before posting my last
comment.

This was done in OOo 2.0.1 running on Windows XP SP2 build 2600.

This problem appears to be resolved in OOo 2.0.1. I’m running windows XP SP2
