To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=50886 --- Additional comments from swei...@openoffice.org Mon Aug 31 20:26:21 + 2009 --- Ok. Then let´s invite the UX team to participate here! (I just dropped a message to [ux-request] mailing list.) By now, Datapilot´s output defaults to the current worksheet underneath the source range. In most cases the user wants the output to be placed on a separate (new) worksheet. The main reason for this is, that the source range of a Datapilot typically is big. It stretches out over a great number of rows. In order to see the result, one would have to scroll all the way down the spreadsheet. Since Datapilot´s output defaults to the current worksheet, in most cases users must click the More-button to open the extended options of the dialog and change the combo box from undefined to new sheet. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. BTW I too always thought it was weird not to default to a new sheet. For the majority of use cases I encounter, data pilot tables are created on new sheet, while the current sheet contain large data table. So, this change makes sense to me. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. For me it is a pain in the neck. And hopefully for you it is just a very little effort, when you happen to touch the code of Datapilot anyway. IMO it would be a big progress if Datapilot would just default to a new worksheet rather than the current worksheet. That´s all.
