Hi,

not a bug. You can set the type of subtotal for each Dataset independently. To
do so, just select each data field and click on the function you want.

Hi,

I am not sure, but i think OOo works correct here:

 sum average
1 Asia10 10
2 America 20 20
3 Subtotal30 15
4
5 Europe 40 40
6 Australia 50 50
7 Africa 60 60
8 Subtotal 150 50
9
0 Total wrld 180 36

To my opinion: The subtotal function only takes the detaild data into account.
Not adding the Subtotals ofcourse. Maybe the helptekst could be enhanched, but
that is an other discussion...

Attached example document showing the error.

There is a work-around: Choose the Data Subtotal (Averages) for each column
separately, rather than for the whole block of data at once. It seems that Calc
only applies the average to the last column, and sums the other subtotals...

Hi, there

Today when I was using subtotal in OOspreadsheet to compute the averages of
several columns, I found the first averages are correct while the other are
treated as the sum instead.

I tried several times and it doesn't work. Then I made some simple numbers to
check the function, as below;

NAMEDATA1 DATA2 DATA3 DATA4
A 1 2 3 4
A 2 3 4 5
B 3 4 5 6
B 4 5 6 7

Operation: DATA - Subtotal - average of DATA1-4 --

NAMEDATA1 DATA2 DATA3 DATA4
A 1 2 3 4
A 2 3 4 5
A 结果3 2.5 7 9
B 3 4 5 6
B 4 5 6 7
B 结果7 4.5 11 13
总结果 10 3.5 18 22

Note that only the second column is good. (结果 means result)

I'm using the chinese version of openoffice 2.0.3-4 dapper under Ubuntu linux
with XFCE4 desktop, and my CPU is AMD athlon 1700+. I have not had the same
thing tested on another's openoffice so I do not know whether this is a common
problem, however this is indeed a common function I use, so do many people I
think.

Thanks for your attention and hardwork on this great software.

Best regards
