Thanks. But if:

They can only have one font per cell, so a decission has to
be made which is set on export.

I think you should may to either always use the Latin font,
or always use the East Asian font, instead of randomly choose between them,
resulting in different cells using different fonts.

Thanks.

Hi,

talked to Daniel our Excel filter developer and we agreed that this is a
limitation of Excel. They can only have one font per cell, so a decission has to
be made which is set on export.

Microsoft Windows XP Home SP2, Chinese (traditional char).
OpenOffice Calc, 2.2.1, Chinese (traditional char).

http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/40782/FontProblem.xls

1. Re-do the operations using the above environment.

2. After re-opening the file, cells with date still become MingLiU
for both Latin and Asian fonts.

3. Moreover, after changing the font and before saving the file,
the screen is not properly painted with reverse-video (see attachment).

Thanks.

Maybe you can ask the Chinese (traditional char)
translator to see the bug for you.

Thanks.

Can you make sure you are using the Chinese (Traditional)
version of Windows XP and OpenOffice Calc,
and then operate on the attachment?

Thanks.

Hi,

I've tried it with the upcomming OOo2.2 and could not reproduce. Asian language
support is enabled and both fonts are present on my system.

BTW hard formatting as you do it with your description is not a good idea. It
makes it nearly impossible to change only parts. Soft formatting using cell
styles is much better and makes also the documents smaller.

Please check this Issue again with the latest available developer build.
