This is a problem because the insertion point is not visible when dragging, and when misplacing, re-selecting and moving can lead to errors in selecting the wrong range for larger selections. This issue is important because issue 21280 ist still not resolved after 4 years... - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. And for me the insertion point is clearly visible. Have a look at the Specification at : http://specs.openoffice.org/calc/ease-of-use/Insertion_of_Cells.odt You may also try to check the testcase specification for this feature to get an overview how it works. For testing purposes you can use the current developer snapshot m239. http://qa.openoffice.org/ooQAReloaded/TestcaseSpecifications/OpenOffice.org_2.4/Spreadsheet/Drag__Drop_functionality.html Frank - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
