Please contribute concrete information like: In Cell Tabsexx.xx EXCEL shows ..., pls. see screenshot, OOo shows ..., pls. see screenshots (reason might be xml lines ... with "..."). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I will wait, but to be frank, the (probably vast) majority of office documents out in the workplace are Office 2003 documents, including resumes. Not Office 2007. so this should be a priority shouldn't it? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Is it possible that between different Service Packs of Excel 2003 the XML format changes? is that why somebody has something different than mine? I am on Office 2003 SP3 - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Please reduce the file to focus on one problem that is not yet tracked. If you find more than one problem, file a separate issue for each of them. @billcherry1: You problems are different from import and export with xml format. Also, all .doc files now have a file association with Wordpad, not writer. I need to be able to create files in Open Office that are compatible with Microsoft Office. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I tried the spreadsheet. The XML format is broken. it looks like it is putting formulas into the XML file like maybe it is supposed to, but Microsoft Excel 2003 won't open the file that OpenOffice makes. it complains "Table" and error dumps into a log file. Nor will OOo spreadsheet open a complicated multi-tabbed spreadsheet with references between tabs I made with Office 2003. attached is a real excel multitabbed 2003 xml file with references between tabs. calc is doing some awful strange things to the formulas, like adding extra right perens on functions, etc. file in question is the URL http://JesusnJim.com/z/can-i-open-this-excel-in-ooo3.xml it is a real excel file. the formulas look very different from that used by OOo. but OOo 3.0.0 won't open it. opens fine in Excel 2003 & I can edit & resave. so this is both an import and an export problem. both are broken. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
