On Calc there is now an option (hidden, I hope it will be more visible in the
future) to use the English functions: I think an option to use the English names
for Greek characters on Math expressions will be useful also, specially for
those coming from LaTeX.

Universities are by default multi-language environments. In that situation it is
quite common to have several people working on the same project from systems
that are setted with different languages. In that situation, using different
translations to name the _same_ symbols is not acceptable. And the proposed
solution don't like it? Change it yourself is not serious.
This problem is not only with French: Spanish Greek characters are also
translated. In fact, some translations are wrong: epsilón is not a Spanish
word...
I cannot understand why this translation is performed, specially with all the
other commands still in English (please, DON'T change them...).

You can already customize the catalogue to include accents if you want to... So
