I had previously saved the working draft during the personalize step - should I not have done that? It seems like I had spent enough time and effort that I ought to have been allowed to save the work in progress. I noticed that the 3rd and 4th of 4 letters were missing the address block shortly before the crash. On restart OpenOffice said it was going to show the error report tool, but it didn't - got an error when starting it manually, and will send a separate bug report for the error report failure. No problem with that. The problem happens when we click the Send email button. I tried the Menu Tools - Options... - OpenOffice.org Writer - MailMerge E- Mail - Test Settings... but there also the program hangs and crashes. No error message is received. One thing I have particularly noticed is that this problem happens only when i key in my gmail account settings (www.gmail.com).
