OK. But, is this what is expected, or desired? Why should a hard format contaminate the font setting (and not other settings) of the following style ? The following style is different, and should be considered independent. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Imagine the formatting as blaa blaaa whatever xsub2/sub and the cursor is always set before /sub. Writer cannot invent that, by pressing Enter, you want the default style again. And we won't implement such an intelligence because there billions of cases where this is unwanted. Remember: hard formatting 'sticks' to your cursor so think about resetting the format by yourself when you want the normal style. PS: your question PS: How to display the xml code of the file? Consider odt files as zip files which you can unpack. The xml files are inside. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. OK. But, is this what is expected, or desired? This means --I have tried it-- that the font style of the last char of a parag gets carried over to the next paragraph. For example, should the next paragraph to 'blaa blaaa whatever x2' be subscripted just because '2' is a subscript, even though 'blaa blaaa whatever x' is regular text? What's so important about the LAST character of a paragraph? PS: How to display the xml code of the file? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. In FLIarial.odt the a paragraph has additionally a hard format which is identical to the format of the style Heading 4 (can bee seen in the xml code of the file). Thus the hard format will rule out the Font setting of the follow style FirstLineIndent. Select the paragraph by triple click and choose Format.Default formatting from menu. Now you will get the expected result when entering a new paragraph at EOL of . This hard format is not available in FLItimes.odt - I also have verified this by viewing its content.xml. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I am not opening a new line from , but from . ( was included in the file just to illustrate.) Opening a new parag from should give a 'regular' FirstLineIndent in TNR, regardless of the presence and style of . In FLItimes.odt, I can also set bbb to arial bold, like .
