hi corno...@openoffice.org

no, i mean delete the newly inserted, that is *third*, empty page.

after step 5. page number is indeed '1', as it should be.

but after step 6. page number changes to '3'

in order to change it back to '1', i have to click next to it and sometimes add
and then remove a character, so that it updates again to '1'.

problem seems: update/refresh is too slow and programme needs extra push

Hi paenson,

I cannot reproduce what you describe:

 6. Delete superfluous empty page.

you mean the second page of the document, which has page style First page ?

 7. Page Number is still 3 instead of 1

The number in the header of the third page was 1, from the very moment that I
inserted it, according to your step 5.

This bug is reproduceable on all platforms.

1. Standard page format has page numbering in header.

2. First Page format has as follow-up format again a First Page.

3. The whole document is now formatted First Page

4. Cursor at bottom of second page.

5. Insert Page Break with new numbering starting from one.

6. Delete superfluous empty page.

7. Page Number is still 3 instead of 1

8. Delete page number.

9. Reinsert page number.

10. Now page number is correct: 1

Sometimes not necessary to delete page number, just click cursor next to page
number, and it changes from 3 to 1.
